Powertrains and Hybrid Technology
The new 2020 Escape has a choice of hybrid or plug-in hybrid with a 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine. A 1.5L EcoBoost® and the 2.0L EcoBoost with Auto Start-Stop Technology are the available gas engines.
Selectable Drive Modes
Designed to help improve your driving experience and handling on varying road surfaces. The five different modes are Normal, Eco, Slippery, Sport and Deep Snow/Sand. Once selected, each one of these driving modes can modify the electronic stability control system and traction control system without you having to do anything.
Available AWD Disconnect
Designed to help save fuel, All-Wheel Drive Disconnect allows for the disconnection of the rear driveline when the system detects AWD is not needed. This allows only the front wheels to propel the vehicle, therefore reducing drag and the overall energy demands of the drivetrain.
